Privacy Policy — 531 Fitness

531 Fitness does not collect your data. There is no account, no sign-up, no analytics, and no advertising. The app makes no network requests of its own.
This policy describes everything the app touches. If a category is missing from this page, it is because the app does not use it.
What stays on your iPhone
Your training lives in a database on your own device: units, rest length, your four training maxes, your cycle and week, every completed day, the AMRAP set you logged, and the session you have in progress.
A small summary of your next lift is also written to a shared app group so the Home Screen widgets, the Lock Screen Live Activity and the watch-face complication can draw it. It never leaves your devices.
iCloud Sync
iCloud Sync is an optional one-time purchase. Turning it on mirrors your training database to the private database of your own iCloud account using Apple’s CloudKit.
That data is held under your Apple Account. The developer cannot read it, list it, or recover it, and it is governed by Apple’s iCloud terms and privacy policy. Switching the toggle off stops the mirroring. Deleting the app removes the local copy; removing the iCloud copy is done from your iCloud settings.
If you never buy iCloud Sync, nothing ever leaves your device.
Apple Health
Health is off until you turn it on in Settings › Apple Health, and iOS asks your permission separately before anything is read or written.
When it is on, the app:
- reads your most recent body mass, to estimate the energy a session burned, and reads your workout history;
- writes each finished session as a strength-training workout, tagged with the lift, week, cycle, working volume and units.
When you train with Apple Watch, the Watch records the session live — heart rate, active energy, Activity-ring credit — and saves it. The iPhone only saves a session the Watch did not, so a lift is never counted twice.
All of it goes into your own Health database on your device. The developer never receives it, and it is never sent anywhere.
Purchases
iCloud Sync is sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment; the developer never sees your payment details. The app stores one true/false flag recording whether the purchase is active, so it knows what to unlock the next time it opens. Restoring a purchase asks Apple, not us.
Ratings
After a personal record, the app may ask iOS to show Apple’s standard rating prompt. The prompt is drawn and handled by Apple. The app is not told whether you rated it, what you rated it, or whether the prompt was shown at all, and it asks at most once.
Leaving the app
Settings has a link to the Better Brotherhood at menmadebetter.com. Following it opens your browser and you leave 531 Fitness; that site has its own privacy policy. Nothing about you is attached to the link.
Children
531 Fitness is a barbell training log for adults. It is not directed at children, and it collects nothing from anyone.
Changes
Any change to this policy will appear on this page with a new date above.
